Gaga madness

The count down to Lady Gaga's second album is coming to an end, tomorrow it is released which undoubtly will go to No1 in the charts worldwide. Shes basically the worldwide star of our generation, fair enough shes going to end up in a loony hospital before shes 30. But at least people will remember her unlike some pop stars that are so heavy media trained they dont resemble a personality.

I miss you New York

For the last few weeks Ive been in New York, and taking a step back from my usual life i realised how proud I am to be English. Never before have I realised what a unique sense of humour, style and look on life we have. Fair enough the english do complain alot, but only us can do it in such a way that its dry and funny. I miss New York though for its laid back nature and how people wear their clothes so effortlessy to where I think,  why didnt I think of wearing that together!!?!! The subway is like a mini catwalk at times. My ulimate New York style icon for effortless chic is Chloe Sevigny. She looks has though she takes 5 minutes to get ready but always looks amazing. Shes most indeed got the East Village chilled out vibe to her. I miss New York too much!!!

The queen of kookiness.........

I love this woman so much. The woman in question is Iris Apfel and she is possibly the coolest woman in the world!!! Shes an 89 year old New Yorker living on the Upper East Side but age is not preventing her from looking amazing. She calls herself a "geriatric starlet". Shes quoted in saying when shopping for a bargain, she habitually finds clothes so cheap she doesn't bother to try them on. "What the hell if they don't fit, I'll turn them into pillows" I saw her outside the Moma art gallery in New York  last week in her trademark glasses but i really needed the toliet. When I came back she was gone, I have a feeling this could be the biggest regret of my life!!!!!

"Its the ugly things i notice, because people ignore the ugly things" Alexander Mcqueen

Alexander McQueen - Savage Beauty

The Met in New York currently have a exhibition celebrating the work of the late fashion god Alexander McQueen. Even if you are not a follower of Alexander McQueen or even fashion you will apperciate how amazing this exhibition is. Its basically not even fashion its art. The exhibition consists of of his post graduate collection right to his last collection before his death.

The thing I love about Alexander Mcqueen is how he took chances in fashion and not playing it "safe" for commercial or profitable gain. In the space of one week Kate wore Alexander McQueen to her Royal Wedding and the opening of this exhibition, I cant think of a better way to celebrate his life and work.
